WOW!!! Where did time go?

Again, I was pondering in the car (I really do over ponder in the car) about how I can't believe I am already in 8th grade. It's amazing how fast time has gone by. I can't believe that eighth grade is half over. Or should I say it is half complete? Who knows. But, I only have a couple months until my middle school years are over... That's scary.

Next year at this time I will be in a new school and I will be in my very first year of high school. I can't believe the thought of me being in high school. That sounds so old! F-F-F-Flashback- I remember being in 6th grade seeing my sister, Ange, in high school, thinking that she is so old. Then BAM, I am going to high school next year. I never thought of me being in high school.

- Another flashback-

Last year at this time, I would have finished my first exams. I would have been in awe of me actually taking my first exam (Which surprisingly wasn't as scary as I thought it would be).

It felt like yesterday I was celebrating my 5th birthday. I thought I was so old then. I was proud (Don't ask me why. I was young). The craziness is, soon I will be celebrating my 14th birthday. That’s like officially jumping into teenage years. I only have weeks till I am done being a pre-teen. My sister is going to go to college in two years. To me that is CRAZY! She is going to be an adult in two years. I may move in two years. This is also crazy to me. It’s weird seeing someone who you haven’t seen for years all grown up.

-Flash forward (Although obviously I haven't seen it. Or have I?)-

Before I know it, I will be graduating high school. I will be going to college soon. Life will fly by before I know it. That's why you always HAVE to plan ahead. Always plan for the worst because life could be over before you plan for it. Life is such a complicated subject. Life is mind blowing. Like exams.

Have you’ve ever had this feeling or thought before?

Reflecting the Year: 2010

I just wanted to start this post out by saying: thank you to all of the people who comment on my blog. I truly appreciate it. It makes my day! Also, thank you to the people who follow my blog. I really, really appreciate it.

The year, 2010, was a year filled with changes and new discoveries. Good changes and good discoveries. I've been applying to new schools this year. I have been blessed with new friendships this year, who I love. I took my first exams this year. I've learned so much. I started a blog (Which I never thought I would do)! I started a band with my best friends(The Flashcards!!!). I could list millions more, but this would be a very long post. A lot of discoveries and changes have changed me personally in a positive way!

2011, I hope will be a year of new adventures and new discoveries. I can't believe its only 2 more days till 2011 already! I remember in kindergarten, when we got back from school after the New Year, which was six years ago, I remember thinking that 2011 would never come. It's amazing how time flies by. I can't believe it's 2 days till a new decade.

I have stepped out of my comfort zone this year many times. Like playing basketball or making a stand to play GE instead of dreaded soccer. This year I have made a lot of my thoughts into actions. I am happy about that! I have done a lot of things this year that I never thought I would do!

Knowing that it is almost 2011 makes me happy and scares me at the same time.  It makes me happy because it is a new year, which means new adventures. It scares me because people believe that in the year 2012 the world is going to end. I really don’t believe in this prediction, but you never know what could happen. Maybe they are right. Maybe they are wrong. But, I believe that only God knows, so I can’t ponder about it because I have no control over that. Anyways, in 2012 my sister, Ange, is going to graduate from high school. It makes me sad because I am close to my sisters and obviously she is going to live at whatever college she goes to. But, I guess that is a new adventure in itself.

If I had to name the year 2010 I would title it: New Adventures and New Discoveries!

If you had to title the year 2010, what would you title it? Why? How was your Christmas?

The Misadventures of BasketBall!

I can't believe how many sport problems I have had this year! It’s like an ongoing cycle of unsure feelings about what sport is right for me. If you have been reading my blog I wrote about how I have joined the swim team as a winter sport..... That no longer is true! I have joined the basketball team!

I wanted to stop swimming because (although I still love to swim) I wanted to play something new. In the summer when I am bored, I always play basketball with my parents or siblings. So today I faced my fears and switched.

Basketball terrifies me but, at this moment I am excited to play! Today, my mom and I after school went to go and get basketball shoes. During that whole time I was screaming with joy and was so excited to be playing such a great sport.

There is a problem. People in my family aren’t so good at playing Basketball to put it nicely. My sister when she played basketball at my school she was the worst player on the team. She kept the benches nice and warm (which I am planning on doing). The coach I am going to be having, coached my sister. When Ange (my sister) was in a basketball game she had the ball and she was waiting for someone to get open so she could pass it on to someone else. She waited and waited. Then all of a sudden a girl on the other team was jumping in Ange's face. She was trying to stop Ange from passing it. So the girl was having a nervous breakdown because Ange didn’t pass it to someone, so Ange gave her the ball. After, I was so mad at her and I said "WHY DID YOU DO THAT?!?!?"(Especially because that girl got a point by Ange passing the ball to her) She replied "if she wanted it so badly, she can have it." So basketball isn't exactly the best sport in my family.

At the moment my basketball excitements is lacuna. I am so nervous! So I have decided to make a pros and cons list:

Pros (I thought of starting on the positive side first):

Get good exercise
Getting to know how to play basketball
Getting to be with all my friends
Just getting an overall experience of the game

Cons (I hope when you read this, you won't think that I am being ridiculous because these are true reasons why I don't want to play):

Getting hit in the face with the ball (meaning: getting a face injury like a broken nose or something like that)
Sweating (I am sorry. I don't like the sweat. Especially if I could be in a pool instead)
Running (I hate to constantly run)
Just embarrassing myself in general
Making my team lose

At the end of reading my Cons list you probably think I am crazy......... please don't reply to that thought.........

I am excited and nervous for basketball. I hope I do well. Wish me luck!!

What do you think about basketball? Have you ever played and did you like it?
